Michelle’s love of painting female figures and portraits seamlessly translated to the world of hair and makeup artistry. Her fine art background, love of lines, curves, light, and shadow all conjure a beauty evident in the details of her work.
Born and raised by a Vietnamese immigrant mother and a worldly father, Michelle thrives in a diverse environment. Early in her career, she learned to work with a wide range of different ages, skin types, hair, and ethnicities in the melting-pot of Washington DC. Her salon life on the East Coast was both rewarding and invaluable with a faithful clientele who revered her skills.
In 2003, Michelle moved across the country to Los Angeles to expand her craft. While in a professional special-effects makeup school, Michelle explored the scene and learned the industry ropes assisting Hollywood’s top tier production talents. Editorial, commercial, music, and film are the genres upon which Michelle has built her colorful career. From the early days with Lisa Loeb to The Super Bowl Halftime Show with Coldplay, Michelle’s talent has always been consistent.
This industry artist lives at the end of a bumpy dirt road in the mountains of Topanga Canyon with her cameraman husband, their two children, a dog, cat, and two bunnies. To balance out the illusions of Hollywood magic, Michelle grounds her spirit assisting natural transitions as an end-of-life doula, finding beauty in the most unassuming places.
